Atlanta’s transit agency plans to leverage the value of its existing real estate portfolio for new development that will include new walkable Transit Oriented Development projects at its existing stations. These are focused on new urbanites eager to experience the city through transit, bikes or on foot instead of through the windshield of their car.
The Oakland City TOD plan is organized around a new park in front of the station. New housing, shops and office space are organized around the park and a central parking structure, replacing the existing surface parking lots on the site.
