A new expressway bridge marks the gateway into Midtown Atlanta, home of Piedmont Park, the High Museum of Art and close to Georgia Tech. The redesigned bridge eases the traffic tangle at midtown Atlanta’s gateway while enhancing the urban experience for motorists and pedestrians daily using the bridge. The green aluminum screen uses design motifs borrowed from Matisse cutouts in the nearby High Museum to highlight the art museum and the Park.
